Presses

After more humble beginnings with copier technology and spot colour laser printers, Copytech progressed into full colour printing, taking delivery of the first HP Indigo Platinum press in the UK. Since those early years, Copytech has continually updated its presses and remained a hardened advocate of the HP Indigo print process, believing the finished product superior to offerings from the likes of Xerox, Canon, Oce, Xeikon and Kodak. It's offset image transfer process producing that litho quality feel and finish to the final product.

We currently have 2 HP Indigo presses:

HP5500

This is our most recent addition to the print room. It is a 7 colour press, configured with additional light cyan and light magenta special colours. These are particularly useful for photo book work enhancing the accuracy of colour management, producing more subtlety for things such as skin tones. This press has a greater optical resolution of 1200 dpi, and 225 lpi screen ruling to produce smoother half tones and crisper looking solids.

HP3050

This machine has many common features and capabilities of its newer brother. Our machine is configured as a 7 colour press, and has the facility to print special colours in addition to the usual CMYK output. (Please contact the office in advance with special/spot colour requirements.)

Infotec 3110

We have a versatile medium/high speed laser printer/copier that takes care of all black and white requirements. It produces a great quality A3 & A4 output, as well as some unusual sizes right down to A5. It has the usual automated stapling features, and is also equipped with an online punch to produce finished output with either 2 or 4 holes! The machine will take electronic input and has the ability to store jobs on an internal hard drive. This makes the production of simple leaflets or multiple copies of an 800 page software manual a real breeze. The machine has an in built scanner, and produces surprisingly good results from hard copy originals, and also enables us to scan A3 colour artwork back onto a network hard drive for editing on Mac or PC.... very handy.

HP5000 – Large format inkjet

Wide format printing requirements are catered for with two of these 42" width workhorses. They are serviced and lavished with care to ensure that print quality is always maintained at the highest quality. We hold a range of materials for the most popular requirements using dye based inks, and can switch one of the machines to use UV inks for specialist requirements.
